Overnight stock market
On Wednesday, Eastern Time, US stocks closed mixed, with the Dow Jones down 0.22%, the S&P 500 index up 0.82%, and the Nasdaq up 1.77%, breaking through 20,000 points for the first time and setting a new historical high. Star tech stocks continued to rise, with Tesla, Google, Amazon, Meta, and Netflix all hitting new all-time highs.
The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index fell 0.74%, with most popular Chinese stocks declining. Tencent Music fell over 5%, JD.com fell over 3%, Xpeng Motors fell over 2%, and Bilibili, NIO, and Pinduoduo all fell over 1%. On the upside, Tiger Brokers rose over 3%, while Youdao and Gaotu rose over 1%.
The three major European stock indexes closed slightly higher, with Germany's DAX index up 0.34% at 20,399.16 points, France's CAC40 index up 0.39% at 7,423.40 points, and the UK's FTSE 100 index up 0.26% at 8,301.62 points.

WTI January crude oil futures rose by $1.70, an increase of 2.48%, to $70.29 per barrel. Brent February crude oil futures rose by $1.33, an increase of 1.84%, to $73.52 per barrel. NYMEX January natural gas futures rose by 6.80%, to $3.3780 per million BTUs.
International precious metal futures generally rose, with COMEX gold futures up 1.3% at $2,753.8 per ounce, and COMEX silver futures up 0.13% at $32.79 per ounce.
Bitcoin surged again, rising 5.4% within the day to reestablish itself above $100,000; Ethereum rose over 6%, approaching $3,800.
