PANews reported on December 4 that Ripple announced its membership in the global social impact movement Pledge 1%, committing to allocate 1% of its profits to promote blockchain innovation, improve access to financial services, expand carbon markets, and support employee-led local philanthropic activities. Since launching Ripple Impact in 2018, the company has donated over $180 million to support important projects such as building financial resilience, humanitarian aid, and blockchain research in academia.

Through its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), Ripple collaborates with over 50 leading academic institutions worldwide, funding more than 1,500 blockchain research projects and helping to establish 600 fintech courses. In terms of sustainability, Ripple has pledged $100 million to expand carbon markets and enhance the transparency and efficiency of carbon credit trading.
