There are reports that Trump will announce the successor to the SEC chair as early as tomorrow. From Trump's actions, he is continuously fulfilling his campaign promises. The current SEC chair is seen as a regulatory bane for the crypto space, and if Trump appoints someone, it will likely be a person friendly to cryptocurrencies, and it could very well be a big player with experience in the crypto industry. This appointment, in general, is good news both in terms of information and future policy implementation.
Yesterday I mentioned that the altcoin season is about to start, and coincidentally, today CZ also tweeted to hint that the altcoin season will kick off. In fact, looking at the market, funds have indeed rotated to the altcoin sector, even the metaverse project SAND, which has trapped countless people at high prices, has rallied. As for why I rarely recommend altcoins, or say that only small funds should participate in them, just take a look at SAND's price trend; even if the current price rises tenfold, those at high levels are just breaking even. Therefore, the upcoming altcoin season will actually test whether everyone can resist temptation.
As for the recent pullback in mainstream assets, including ETH dropping from 3700 to 3600, this is a reasonable correction. ETH has actually risen quite a bit recently, so a proper pullback is normal. Conversely, those that have risen sharply will fall more severely. Of course, there is a risk that must be mentioned: the first batch of rising coins like BTC and DOGE have yet to reach new highs. If the market sees a significant pullback in the near future, I wouldn’t be surprised.
However, from the perspective of DeFi trends, funds have not retreated yet, or for many major coins, we are far from the stage of cashing out. Overall, the market is oscillating upwards. Therefore, if you feel that even the pullback waves are not worth trading, you can patiently hold your positions. For strong sectors, continue to hold, such as established mainstream coins, DeFi, etc. My advice is that if you have allocated altcoins that rise more than 30% in a single day or have doubled over several days, you can definitely take some profits. In a bull market, it’s unwise to call a top; just take profits in batches.
