According to a report by the Financial Times, OpenAI is discussing plans to introduce advertising into its artificial intelligence products as the ChatGPT developer seeks new revenue sources. OpenAI's Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar stated in an interview with the Financial Times that the $150 billion AI startup is considering an advertising model and added that they plan to 'exercise caution about when and where to implement ads.' The San Francisco-based company secured $6.6 billion in new funding in October, and according to several informed sources and an analysis of LinkedIn accounts by the Financial Times, OpenAI is recruiting advertising talent from large tech companies like Meta and Google. In a statement following the interview, Friar added, 'Our current business is experiencing rapid growth, and we see significant opportunities in our existing business model. While we are open to exploring other revenue sources in the future, there are currently no active plans to launch an advertising business.'
