According to TechFlow, on November 29, according to official news, World ID announced the launch of a pilot program for the passport authentication system (World ID Passport Credential) in countries such as Chile, Colombia, Malaysia and South Korea. The system allows users to associate their passports with their World ID through the NFC function, while ensuring that user information is completely stored in personal devices and will not be shared with third parties.

It is reported that users who pass the passport verification can receive additional WLD token rewards. Currently, World ID users who pass the Orb verification can receive about 51.69 WLD tokens. The World Foundation stated that users who complete the passport verification will receive additional rewards without the need for Orb verification.

The World ID passport authentication system currently only supports iOS devices, and users must hold an NFC passport from a pilot country and be located in the corresponding country. The project team said that the Android version will be launched soon and will be expanded to more countries in the future.
