Recently, Clanker's popularity has surged, not only refocusing market attention on the Base ecosystem but also making AI Agents the next main narrative in analysts' eyes.
Clanker's breakout has also brought significant attention back to Farcaster, with protocol founder Dan Romero stating the goal is to create a hundred Clanker opportunities. Meanwhile, Clanker has also spawned a batch of popular Meme coins, with market capitalization continuing to rise.
Many people view Clanker as the social version of Pump.fun, and with the narrative of AI Agents, it seems this product will become the next wealth code. So what exactly is Clanker? Can ordinary users participate in token issuance? What other AI Agents-related popular meme projects are worth paying attention to in the Base ecosystem?
1. How to master Clanker?
In simple terms, Clanker is an AI program that helps users launch tokens. Users just need to @Clanker on Farcaster clients like Warpcast or Supercast and write their token deployment needs, and it will launch the token on Base for the user.
This application was developed by Farcaster's full-stack engineer Jack Dishman and Farcaster ecosystem R&D founder @proxystudio.eth. According to the founder of Farcaster, Clanker is based on large language models (LLM), capable of detecting user content and supporting images and other features, leveraging the distribution advantage of Warpcast.
In the latest official documentation from @proxystudio.eth, it provided new supplements and explanations for Clanker.
Clanker is an autonomous agent for deploying tokens. Currently, users can request Clanker to deploy ERC-20 tokens on Base by tagging @Clanker on Farcaster.
Currently, the only requirement to use Clanker is to have a Farcaster account with a good Neynar user score. The Neynar user score is generated based on the user's behavior on the platform, ranging from 0 to 1, and can be obtained through interactions with high-quality users.
Each Farcaster account can request Clanker to deploy one token per day. When deploying a token, the user needs to tag Clanker (@clanker) in their broadcast on Farcaster and provide the token name, token symbol, and optional image/gif in the broadcast text.
Clanker will respond to user requests in the following three scenarios:
1. After successful deployment, Clanker will respond with a link to its website clanker.world, which contains a link to the token page of the deployed token.
2. If Clanker is unclear about the request, Clanker will ask clarifying questions to determine the token name, code, and whether the requester wishes to deploy that token.
3. If the requester is unable to deploy the token for various reasons (the token deployment limit has been reached, the requester's Neynar user score is too low, the requester has been banned from using Clanker).
A specific case is warpcast user @artlu posting @Clanker and writing the token name BURROTI and the token symbol BURRITO, accompanied by an image of a Mexican burrito. Clanker not only helped successfully launch the token but also interacted with him.
Token Deployment:
Upon receiving a valid token deployment request, Clanker will deploy ERC-20 tokens on Base by calling the contract:
Initial Token Minting: Mint a new ERC-20 token for the deployer's contract.
Uniswap V3 Pool Creation: The initial market value for the Uniswap V3 pool is approximately $30,000.
Providing liquidity to the pool: ERC-20 tokens are sent from the deployer's contract to the Uniswap V3 non-fungible position manager, adding unilateral liquidity to the pool.
Liquidity Locking: Then the LP NFT is sent to the LP locking contract with a preset default lock-up period.
Fee Structure and Rewards:
When Clanker deploys a token, it initiates a protocol fee of 1% for the Uniswap V3 pool on Base. With each trade of each token, 1% of each swap in that pool will be collected and redistributed as rewards:
60% of swap fees - Protocol (Clanker)
40% of swap fees - Requester (the user requesting Clanker to deploy the token)
Creating tokens on Clanker is free, and creators can earn 40% of the Uniswap LP fees for the tokens they request. Therefore, the larger the trading volume, the more ownership users gain in the tokens, and correspondingly, the greater the ETH rewards they receive.
2. The concept of AI Agents in the Base ecosystem is a popular meme.
As of the time of writing, Clanker has issued a total of 4,339 tokens and generated over $7 million in revenue.
According to data from Dune data platform user @0xluc, Clanker had the highest average daily revenue between November 20 and 26, showing a continuous upward trend.
According to Dexscreener data, the meme coin CLANKER from the Clanker application currently has a market capitalization of approximately $87.5 million, with a price of $87.54, and a 15.95% decline in the last 24 hours.
In addition to CLANKER, there are two popular memes derived from the Clanker application: ANON and LUM.
ANON is an application social product called Supercast created by Polish developer woj (@wojtekwtf) based on the Farcaster protocol in October this year. It supports users to post anonymously through the SuperAnon account via zk proof technology.
Subsequently, an anonymous user interacted with Clanker through the Superanon account and successfully launched a MEME coin named ANON. The subsequent interaction between woj and the community also contributed to ANON's growing fame.
On November 26, Farcaster co-founder Dan Romero announced that the social application Anoncast, based on zero-knowledge proof technology, launched a new feature allowing users to prove their authorship while posting anonymously when necessary.
And ANON has become the first token purchased by Vitalik on Base.
ANON currently has a market capitalization of approximately $34.2 million, with a price of $0.0034, and a 10% decline in the last 24 hours.
LUM is a token co-issued by Aethernet and Clanker, where a Farcaster user requested the AI agent Aethernet from the Higher community to utilize Clanker to issue and deploy the token.
LUM currently has a market capitalization of approximately $41.6 million, with a price of $41.64, and a 10.91% decline in the last 24 hours.
Aside from the aforementioned memes, there are also popular AI Agents related projects in the Base ecosystem:
VIRTU
Virtu is an AI agent designed to enhance the Virtuals ecosystem on the Base blockchain. It provides the development and adoption of technical solutions that drive the Virtuals ecosystem, offering a suite of supporting tools that include functions for managing and optimizing digital assets.
AIXBT
AIXBT is an AI Agent released by @0rxbt on @virtuals_io, which can scrape data from multiple sources and over 400+ KOLs to provide real-time information sources. If users hold more than 600,000 AIXBT tokens, they can also access the AIXBT terminal directly.
LUNA
Luna is an AI virtual idol and live agent on TikTok created by the AI Agent Virtual Protocol on Base, featuring memory and interaction capabilities. The agents of the Virtuals Protocol include a virtual band called AI-dol, which consists of Luna (lead singer), Olyn, and Iona.
BUG
On November 26, Clanker encountered a technical failure while processing a user SantaClanker token mint request, accidentally creating a token named BUG. The token subsequently gained popularity.
Summary
Clanker is filled with popular concept buffs: AI Agents + Web3 social + meme, and the way of producing memes is closer to daily life compared to Pump.fun, especially with the more creative attributes generated by AI agents. However, in terms of current scale, it is still far from Pump.fun, and there are limitations in the number and thresholds for issuing tokens, so Clanker still needs to improve its functionality.
