$THE You might not believe this, but I never use stop-loss orders, yet that doesn't mean I don't manage risks. It's said that stop-loss is the worst strategy among all risk controls. If you're a novice and don't set stop-loss, it could really endanger you. But if you're an expert still using simple stop-loss strategies, then it will be really difficult for you to turn your situation around in this lifetime. In the first six months of my trading career, I practiced setting stop-loss every day, cutting losses if it didn't go right, experiencing bloody cuts daily, until I eventually became numb to it. Over time, I discovered that stop-loss is just a strategy used by major players to fool retail investors. When you set a stop-loss, they just laugh. I gradually realized that I could end up stopping myself out completely. Later, I found better risk control strategies than stop-loss, such as timing hedging and combination strategies, which achieve the same risk control effect with lower costs. If someone tells you that you need to set a stop-loss in trading, they are either a novice or a complete rookie who hasn't even entered the door of trading.
