Cryptocurrency analysts expect 2025 to be the “peak of all bull markets” or the “biggest crypto bull rally ever.” With these optimistic expectations, Nansen AI CEO Alex Svanevik has made nine crypto predictions for the upcoming year. Altcoins, in particular, are also taking a prominent place in these predictions. Here are the details…
Nansen CEO Shares His Expectations About Altcoins and Bitcoin
In the report shared today, Svanevik covers a variety of topics including memecoins, DeFi, Solana (SOL), Bitcoin (BTC), tokenization, DeSci, AI, FIT21, and RWAs. The analyst is generally quite optimistic, predicting that 2025 will be the “peak of all bull markets.” Other analysts share a similar optimism and suggest focusing on utilities. For example, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) is calling on the industry to return to real-world blockchain applications, while Alex Becker says utility altcoins are the “easiest and surest” investment opportunity for 2025, with potential returns of 10x to 30x.
TradingView’s Crypto TOTAL3 index, in particular, suggests that an inflection point for altcoins is imminent and will create strong momentum in the future. Alex Svanevik believes that the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem will experience a “renaissance” following the departure of Gary Gensler. In the process, he expects “a ton of capital” to flow into DeFi projects and predicts that governance tokens in particular will benefit from this. Similarly, the market value of real-world assets (RWA) is predicted to increase by “3x” at the most conservative estimate. This will be a development that will allow every asset to be tokenized as the potential of crypto is realized more.
Speaking about tokenization, Svanevik notes that permissioned chains will return to the agenda through tokenization. For example, projects like Haven1 will support this trend. Meme coins will attract retail investors to permissionless ecosystems with record volumes expected on decentralized exchanges (DEX). The analyst also emphasizes that there is a significant growth and interest expected in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and Decentralized Science (DeSci). Svanevik says:
"Crypto is accelerating AI, but it's also protecting us from AI. DeSci is similarly attracting big 'crypto dollars'."
According to Svanevik, one of the reasons behind this is the special interest of many crypto leaders in long-term research. This means more crypto-native capital flowing into frontier sciences, and more developments could be seen in this area in 2025. Svanevik also predicts that Solana will attract more traditional finance (TradFi) capital from Ethereum (ETH) ETFs after an exchange-traded fund (ETF) is approved. He also predicts that the Bitcoin ecosystem will continue to develop “both in TradFi and on-chain.”
From a regulatory perspective, it is also worth noting that the US bill called the Financial Innovation and Technology Act for the 21st Century (FIT21) will become law. Whether these predictions will come true or not will only be understood with the developments of the coming year. The 2025 bull market could bring new innovations and different narratives, which could lead to significant changes in the crypto world.
