The software development giant Oracle Corporation has once again sued the cryptocurrency startup Crypto Oracle LLC and its owner Louis Kerner, accusing the latter of "resuming infringement of Oracle's trademark rights" and also "openly violating" the settlement agreement. Oracle initially filed a lawsuit against this cryptocurrency company in 2019, accusing it of "using Oracle's famous trademark as part of its 'CryptoOracle' brand and marketing cryptocurrency-related services to Oracle's own customers and users." The two companies later reached a confidential settlement, and the court issued a permanent injunction in 2020, prohibiting Crypto Oracle from using the name "CryptoOracle" or any variations of Oracle trademarks. However, Oracle now claims that Crypto Oracle and Kerner have resumed use of the "CryptoOracle" name and brand, launched new businesses, maintained infringing domain names, and held events under the "CryptoOracle Collective" brand, violating the settlement agreement and court injunction.
