The Jupiter Exchange plans to gift cryptocurrency worth $1.5 billion
The decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Jupiter plans to gift its clients native digital assets Jupiter (JUP) worth $1.5 billion at the current rate.
The co-founder of Jupiter, known by the pseudonym meow, suggested conducting two airdrops in 2025 and distributing 700 million JUP tokens to participants of each promotion. The first airdrop is planned for January, while the timing of the second has not yet been announced.
From November 25 to 29, all holders of Jupiter cryptocurrency can vote for or against meow's initiative. If at least 70% of the voting participants support the proposal, it will be accepted and implemented. Otherwise, meow will make adjustments to the plan based on the wishes of the members of the crypto community and hold another vote.
The first Jupiter airdrop took place in January 2024. Nearly 1 million users of the Solana blockchain participated, receiving a gift of 1.35 billion JUP coins. At that time, the cryptocurrency was credited to the first clients of the trading platform who had shown activity before November 2, 2023.
