Solana Caught in Signature Fraud Attack

The Solana cryptocurrency ecosystem is currently facing a serious security crisis, including signature fraud attacks, resulting in millions of USD in losses for users. There are four main types of fraud that have been recorded: airdrop scams, signature fraud, unauthorized transfers, and address poisoning.

Recently, the issues have been clarified further by an article from SlowMist, emphasizing that some blockchain networks like Solana allow ownership changes without a private key. This creates vulnerabilities for attackers, as ownership can be compromised and cannot be recovered. The recent attack has led to over 7,000 wallets on Solana being hacked, with estimated losses reaching hundreds of millions of USD. Most of the affected users are Phantom and Slope wallet users, two popular wallets in the ecosystem.

Experts advise that users should transfer assets to cold wallets or centralized exchanges to protect against potential risks. As of now, the issue has not been completely resolved, and more cautious actions are necessary.
