Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff envisions a future where AI's potential lies in autonomous agents, not large language models (LLMs). Speaking on The Wall Street Journal's podcast, Benioff suggested that the hype around AI chatbots like ChatGPT has inflated perceptions of their capabilities. Instead, he sees autonomous agents as the key to enhancing business efficiency by independently handling tasks like sales and marketing. Salesforce is already integrating AI agents for customer service. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Nvidia are also exploring agentic AI, with OpenAI planning to launch its agent, "Operator," in 2025.
