According to the prosecution, the programmer was involved in laundering over $1.2 billion. Pertsev did not plead guilty and filed an appeal.
His lawyers have repeatedly requested the court to release their client on bail until the appeal is heard.

Congress members from the House of Representatives expressed concern that despite previously imposed restrictions, the service continues to operate, and funds are being laundered through it.
