After Trump's promise to reform the SEC, the current chair of the Commission Gary Gensler announced his resignation. His term will end in January 2025, before Trump takes office. Among the candidates for the role of the new head of the agency are SEC commissioners Hester Peirce and Mark Uyeda, former Commission staffer Paul Atkins, and former CEO of Binance.US Brian Brooks.
In response to the resulting excitement, the Cryptocurrency Innovation Council (CCI) presented its optimistic forecast.
"From 2025, the US will finally catch up. The EU is waking up and taking its steps. The future of cryptocurrencies has never looked brighter," wrote the Innovation Council on Twitter.
