According to a TechFlow report on November 22, Techcrunch reported that Amazon announced an additional $4 billion investment in Anthropic, bringing its total investment in the company to $8 billion, while still maintaining a minority shareholder position. According to the agreement, Anthropic will use AWS as its primary AI model training platform.
Anthropic will collaborate with AWS's chip manufacturing division, Annapurna Labs, to develop the next generation of Trainium accelerators. Currently, 'tens of thousands' of businesses are using the Claude series models through the Amazon Bedrock platform. Reports indicate that Amazon plans to replace Alexa's existing internal models with Anthropic's models.
