The decentralized gaming network platform KGeN (Kratos Gamer Network) announced on November 20, 2024, the completion of a $10 million ecosystem round financing. This round was led by blockchain technology company Aptos Labs, with participation from Polygon and Game7, corresponding to a fully diluted valuation of $500 million for KGeN. So far, KGeN's total financing has reached $30 million.

It is worth noting that the lead investor Aptos Labs was founded by Mo Shaikh and Avery Ching, focusing on developing decentralized network tools, and has currently raised over $400 million. Investors in Aptos Labs include well-known institutions such as a16z, Jump Crypto, and PayPal Ventures.

Financing background and goals

Founded in 2022, KGeN is a decentralized network platform dedicated to achieving data ownership for gamers, planning to promote organic user growth for game studios through the establishment of a circular gaming economy system that builds player digital identities. This round of financing will accelerate the development of a circular gaming economy where players own digital identities, driving KGeN's growth in the $250 billion gaming industry and its revolutionary data sovereignty solutions.

Aptos Labs CEO Mo Shaikh stated in an interview: "In the traditional gaming industry, players often lack control over their personal data. KGeN is driving significant industry change, aiming to empower players with true digital identity ownership and establish new standards for data ownership and usage."

Technical advantages and market performance

KGeN provides a complete solution for players to establish digital identity, confirm ownership, and realize value through its core technology Proof of Gamer (PoG) engine. It is reported that the engine has accumulated over 197 million gaming player attribute data, covering 93 data dimensions. This data provides game developers with precise user profiles and personalized marketing solutions. Currently, KGeN operates in India, Brazil, Nigeria, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa regions, with 10.8 million registered players and 3.3 million monthly active users.

KGeN council member Manish Agarwal stated: "Aptos Labs, with its technology background from Meta, has unique insights into community building and data-driven growth. Through this collaboration, we will expand the multi-chain POG engine and strive to establish a fairer new paradigm for game distribution."

Commercial value and future planning

By integrating Web2 and Web3 ecosystems, KGeN provides in-depth user behavior analysis for game publishers and blockchain developers. Feedback from partners indicates that using KGeN's solutions can reduce customer acquisition costs (CAC) by 30-60%.

In the future, KGeN will focus on developing the following directions with this round of financing:

  • Expand platform functionality and data analysis capabilities

  • Strengthen cooperation with game developers

  • Optimize player reward mechanisms

  • Expand business in emerging markets
