Musk Criticizes Bezos for Predicting Trump's Defeat

Elon Musk criticized Jeff Bezos for incorrectly predicting that Donald Trump would lose the presidential election to Kamala Harris.

On Wednesday night, Musk wrote on his social media platform X: "Tonight at Mar-a-Lago, I learned that Jeff Bezos told everyone that Trump would definitely lose, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock." Clearly, Musk was referring to the notion that if Trump lost to Harris, the stock prices of his companies Tesla and SpaceX would plummet, but of course, that did not happen. Trump defeated Harris in the election, and he is now set to once again take the White House and begin his second term.

With less than two weeks before the election, Bezos prevented his newspaper, The Washington Post, from endorsing one of the two presidential candidates, going against the established tradition of The Washington Post and other national newspapers, a move that faced strong backlash. Bezos published a column in The Washington Post defending his stance, explaining that he decided to stop supporting a president because public trust in traditional media is waning.

The billionaire Amazon CEO's viewpoint was quickly criticized, leading to some members of his newsroom resigning and hundreds of thousands canceling their subscriptions. Reports indicated that The Washington Post had originally intended to endorse Harris, but Bezos ultimately halted it. $DOGE
