According to Protos, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced plans to ban cryptocurrency mining in the occupied regions of Ukraine, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson. The move is intended to address power shortages in the fall and winter, according to the Moscow Times. Six regions in Russia's North Caucasus will also face a full mining ban, while Irkutsk, parts of Buryatia, and Trans-Baikal Territory will be subject to partial restrictions in the fall and winter until 2031.
