On November 14, the hybrid Layer2 project BOB, powered by Bitcoin and Ethereum, successfully held its Innovation Winner event - Shark Tank (Phase 2) in Bangkok, Thailand. A total of 9 innovative Bitcoin ecosystem projects participated in the project roadshow, with Coffer Network ultimately winning the championship.
This event received support from over 80 leading investment institutions and professional funds in the industry, including ViaBTC Capital, IOSG Ventures, Antalpha Ventures, Ledger Cathay Capital, Quantstamp, RockawayX, Mechanism Capital, L1D, Cobo Ventures, NewTribe Capital, G1 Ventures, Artichoke Capital, Amigoo Ventures, and Arcanum Ventures, and attracted over 1,000 enthusiasts interested in the Bitcoin ecosystem to participate in the event.
It is reported that the on-site judges included many experts from the crypto industry and leading institutional investors, such as ViaBTC Capital's investment director Lilia, Quantstamp founder and CEO Quantstamp, Ledger Cathay Capital investor Alban Vendeuvre, IOSG Ventures Kickstarter project leader Figo Saleh, AntAlpha investor Jake Zheng, and OKX wallet's Bitcoin ecosystem leader Frank.
Shark Tank is a program launched by BOB aimed at encouraging the most innovative, creative, and rapidly growing developers in the Bitcoin ecosystem, helping them connect with leading investment institutions and providing them with core ecological resources such as funding support, online exposure, and offline roadshows.
There were 9 projects focused on Bitcoin ecosystem innovation participating on-site, including Coffer Network, Stable Jack, Virtual Labs, Tapalytics, Zky Wallet, BQ Labs, Magnolia, Native, and GOEMON, covering multiple subfields of the Bitcoin ecosystem such as BTCFi perpetual contract DEX, decentralized insurance, cross-chain bridges, and Bitcoin wallet infrastructure. The eventual champion, Coffer Network, is a decentralized programmable smart account infrastructure for Bitcoin Layer1 and Layer2, aimed at helping users easily manage and earn their Bitcoin L1 and L2 assets.
BOB belongs to a new type of L2: Hybrid L2. This hybrid Layer2 solution aims to ensure security using Bitcoin while providing users access to DApps, DeFi, and stablecoin aggregation solutions, linking the mass adoption potential of Bitcoin with the capabilities of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and its ecosystem.
