ChainCatcher reported that according to Jinshi, 8 people familiar with the matter revealed that Trump's transition team is considering a former Uber executive and three current or former Republican congressmen (one of whom is now a Fox News host) to lead the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Emil Michael, a Trump donor, tech entrepreneur and former Uber executive with social ties to Musk, has emerged as a leading contender, three sources said.

Other candidates include Missouri Rep. Sam Graves, chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, outgoing Louisiana Republican Rep. Garret Graves and former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy, now a Fox News host, seven sources said.
