Elon Musk recently criticized OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's 2018 proposal to launch a cryptocurrency token, citing potential damage to OpenAI's credibility. According to court filings, Musk opposed Altman's idea for an ICO, or initial coin offering, labeling it a "scamworthy" move. This proposal came shortly after Altman suggested turning OpenAI into a for-profit entity, which Musk also rejected. Musk has since renewed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Altman, accusing them of violating nonprofit commitments. Meanwhile, a separate lawsuit against Musk involving Dogecoin manipulation was withdrawn.
