Billionaire Elon Musk wants to hire “high-IQ revolutionaries” to work in the new agency under President Trump. The SpaceX CEO is also not afraid to speak frankly about salary and the nature of the job.

According to NBC News, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) - under the leadership of billionaire Elon Musk and politician Vivek Ramaswamy - began accepting applications for staff positions from November 14.

“We need revolutionaries, with super high IQs, willing to work 80+ hours a week on cost-cutting missions,” an account called the Ministry of Government Efficiency (with official traces) posted on social network X.

“If you are a good fit, please private message this account with your CV. Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy will consider the top 1% of candidates,” the post read.

The job is unpaid but will “help America a lot,” Musk added.

“This will be a boring job, with many enemies and zero pay,” the American billionaire wrote on social network X.

Thousands of people responded to the post by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) account on social media X. Some made suggestions on where spending should be cut.

It is unclear who is managing the posts on this account. However, Mr. Musk has retweeted posts from this account, a sign that this is the official DOGE account.

President-elect Donald Trump announced on November 12 that he would appoint Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy to co-lead an advisory council to propose spending cuts, identify regulations to eliminate, and come up with ideas for restructuring federal agencies.

Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy have called for drastic changes to federal programs, including large-scale layoffs and deep cuts.

On November 13, Musk called for cutting funding to non-governmental organizations.

“NGOs are funded by the government. This is a clear contradiction in terms,” he wrote on social network X.
