Goldman Sachs has expanded its holdings in BlackRock Inc.’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) to 12.7 million shares worth $461 million, an 83% increase from its previous holdings of 6.9 million shares, new filings have revealed.
With this expansion, Goldman Sachs has become the second-largest investor in the IBIT fund after Millennium Management, which owns $844 million of the fund’s shares.
In addition to IBIT, Goldman Sachs has invested in several other Bitcoin funds, including:
Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin ETF (FBTC): Goldman Sachs owns more than 1.7 million shares worth $95.5 million, up 13%.
Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC): The bank’s holdings exceeded 1.4 million shares worth $71.8 million, up 116%.
Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB): The bank owns 650,961 shares worth $22.5 million, up 156%.
The bank’s portfolio also includes investments in other funds managed by Invesco/Galaxy, WisdomTree and Ark/21Shares, reflecting its strategy to strengthen its presence in the growing digital assets market.
