A recent ruling by the New York State Supreme Court has brought a new turn for the crypto industry. Judge Vincent Dinolov overturned the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) decision to refuse to renew the Title V Air Permit for the Greenidge Generation Bitcoin mining facility. This means that Greenidge’s mining facility will continue to operate.

The judge pointed out that the DEC made legal errors in its decision and acted arbitrarily. This ruling has sparked a discussion about the scope of the Climate Act, especially when it comes to the value of working-class jobs.

As of the third quarter, Greenidge’s computing capacity has reached 3.1 EH/s, of which 1.3 EH/s is self-owned computing power and 1.8 EH/s is managed computing power, and the main electricity comes from its facility in Dresden, New York. 🔋💻
