In a remarkable development, Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto has joined the ranks of the world’s richest people. As the value of Bitcoin has soared, Nakamoto’s estimated holdings have vaulted him to the 19th position on the list of the world’s richest people. Bitcoin historian Pete Rizzo shared this fact in a recent tweet: “At a Bitcoin price of $90,000, Satoshi Nakamoto is now the 19th richest person in the world.”

Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym for the individual or group who developed Bitcoin, wrote the Bitcoin white paper, and created and deployed the original reference implementation of Bitcoin.

Satoshi Nakamoto is believed to own around one million Bitcoins, which have remained untouched since their creation. As the price of Bitcoin hits new highs, the value of these holdings has grown significantly. According to a screenshot shared by Rizzo, these Bitcoins are now worth $90 billion, making Satoshi Nakamoto the 19th richest person in the world.

However, despite recent claims, including an HBO documentary and statements from certain shady characters, no one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is. The search for the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto has been going on for years, but the answer remains unknown.

Bitcoin surpassed $93,000 on Wednesday, setting a new all-time high, and the rally looks to show no signs of slowing down for now. In recent weeks, the world's largest cryptocurrency has become one of the most eye-catching market moves, trading at a record high of $93,495 before retreating slightly.

As of writing, Bitcoin (BTC) has risen 4.56% in the past 24 hours to $91,311 and is up 22% on the week. This still puts the previous price target of $100,000 within reach. According to statistics from Deribit, call option bets on Bitcoin breaking $100,000 are concentrated. Inflows into the US Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) exceeded $1 billion at the beginning of this week.

Although Galaxy Digital CEO Michael Novogratz said the likelihood of the U.S. establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve is low, he noted that if such a plan were to go through, the price of Bitcoin could soar to $500,000.
