President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Jay Clayton, former chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (#SEC ), to head the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (#SDNY ).
Known as the “sheriff of Wall Street,” this office handles prominent cases related to financial fraud, terrorism, organized crime, and public corruption. This role marks a shift to criminal law enforcement for #Clayton , who has since held roles at Apollo Global Management and law firm Sullivan & Cromwell.
