The U.S. Supreme Court recently refused to transfer former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows' case involving Georgia election interference to federal court, which means he cannot claim immunity as a federal official. Meadows was charged with extortion and other crimes related to his and Trump's attempts to influence the results of the 2020 Georgia election. Meadows has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer said that although the Supreme Court is not currently hearing the case, he still believes that Meadows will eventually be proven not guilty based on constitutional immunity, and emphasized that he will continue to assert his rights and innocence in state court. $WIF
