PANews reported on November 8, citing The Block, that the AI startup Pond, focused on the cryptocurrency field, raised $7.5 million in seed funding, led by Archetype, with other investors including Cyber Fund, Delphi Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Near Foundation, and several angel investors. Pond aims to build a decentralized AI model layer to support AI for blockchain.
Pond initially developed a user search engine based on on-chain data and has now expanded to create a complete model ecosystem that includes data, model computation, training, and inference. Its products are applied in the fields of security, recommendations, and DeFi, with the security model capable of predicting malicious addresses with an accuracy of 0.936; the recommendation model provides personalized suggestions for NFTs and DeFi protocols; and the DeFi dynamic fee rate model helps liquidity providers optimize trading costs. Pond plans to further expand its crypto AI applications to cover DeFi risk management, internal trading detection, and more. The company currently has a team of 11 people and is hiring for key positions such as Chief Operating Officer and Product Manager.
