Odaily Planet Daily reported that the US government is negotiating with multiple political action committees (PACs) to try to recover up to $13.25 million in political donations donated by former FTX executives. Federal court documents show that the government requested an extension until January 15 to continue discussing fund confiscation with these PACs. Most of these PACs are related to the Democratic Party or support liberal causes.
According to OpenSecrets data, these groups received about $13.25 million in donations from FTX's SBF or former engineering director Nishad Singh. Among them, Singh was sentenced to three years of supervised release for testifying against SBF. Several politicians and PACs have returned SBF's donations.
