Celebrating the Transition of A Trust from a Private Environment to Mainnet and Its Impact on Digital Certificate Issuance in Japan
On October 23, an event for the digital certificate service “A Trust,” which operates on the IOST mainnet, was held at Shibuya Centrum, a hub for Web3 in Tokyo.
A Trust was developed in 2019 by a major Japanese company and initially operated on a clone of IOST in a private environment. In October 2024, Cabinet (CEO: Mr. Ishida) took over its operations and successfully migrated it to the IOST mainnet. To date, it has issued over 37,000 digital certificates for multiple clients, including major Japanese corporations.
AIYAA, a member of the IOST developer community who has operated a node since 2019, spoke about the advantages of IOST’s consensus algorithm and its transaction fee structure (gas costs).
Ms. Tanigawa from OKJ (formerly OKCoin Japan), Japan’s FSA-licensed exchange and the largest network node in the IOST ecosystem, shared insights about the explosive growth in OKJ accounts following the introduction of the IOST coin in 2021, along with some behind-the-scenes stories. OKJ provides liquidity to approximately 70% of its domestic competitors.
Mr. Ishida from Cabinet, the operator of A Trust, expressed his hopes that A Trust will add value to digital content and be utilized in both digital and premium markets.
The migration of the A Trust service, which adopts IOST’s algorithm, from a private environment to the mainnet by a Japanese company demonstrates that IOST is a blockchain solution tailored for enterprises.
About IOST
High fees and slower transaction times on the Ethereum network have left the door open for new solutions to emerge, and IOST is one such project that has been gaining traction since its mainnet launch in 2019.
Backed by significant financial and VC firms such as Sequoia, Matrix, and ZhenFund, IOST is a pioneering decentralized, high-throughput, gas-efficient Proof-of-Believability-powered smart contract platform built to tackle the scalability trilemma once and for all. For this, the concluding ranking from China’s CCID ranked IOST as the best blockchain platform under Basic Technology, better than Ethereum, EOS, and every other smart-contracting platform evaluated by the agency. This is a testament to the quality and ability to roll out a better, innovative product and reflects our genuine desire to be the best in the sphere.
Being one of the public chain leaders in adoption, performance, and utility, IOST remains committed to our mission to unleash the power of blockchain. IOST currently has an ever-expanding 500,000 members community in over 20 countries, over 400 nodes, a top-tier staking ecosystem, and symbiotic relationships with corporations dotted worldwide.
