1. '480,000 Brother'

This is an unavoidable name in the cryptocurrency world. The name '480,000 Brother' comes from the fact that he used his savings of 480,000 to buy 100 Bitcoins, and on January 28, 2014, he started a livestream thread on Baidu's Bitcoin forum.

However, luck was not on his side; this livestreaming was not timed well. The subsequent negative policies and plummeting coin prices caused his assets to shrink rapidly to just 90,000.

The ridicule in the forum and the lack of understanding from family made 480,000 Brother's situation worse. 'Arguing with my mother-in-law, threats of divorce from my wife' gradually became the theme of his livestream.

At the beginning of 2016, when Bitcoin warmed up to 3000 RMB, 480,000 Brother replied to readers, 'I sold my coins and bought a house.' This man, who once hoped to buy a house with Bitcoin and get a new car, lost 180,000 and exited, ultimately missing out on the frenzy a year later.

2. '暴走北纬 (Baozou Beiwei)'

暴走北纬 (Baozou Beiwei) stated that he learned about Bitcoin in 2012, and then got involved when the price fell from 8000 to over 4000. This price was very similar to when 480,000 Brother bought in, but their trajectories diverged from then on.

暴走北纬 (Baozou Beiwei) handed all his salary to his wife and spent all his pocket money on buying Bitcoin. His wallet only had money for cigarettes and fuel; he even began to consider quitting smoking to buy more.

Using the 'pocket money to buy coins' method, 暴走北纬 (Baozou Beiwei) hoarded and held over 300 Bitcoins by the end of 2015.

3. 'Turning 100,000 into 1.5 million in half a year'

This is a story about someone close to me. In 2016, this friend started investing in Bitcoin when the price was around 5000 RMB. At first, he also traded short-term, like most newcomers, often waking up at two or three in the morning to check the market. Later, he found that this kind of trading was not worth the effort; he felt his quality of life was drastically declining and that his emotions were being held hostage by this irregular market behavior.

This short-term trading lasted for two months before he decisively gave up. After some time, it was the end of 2016, and he inadvertently started paying attention to Ethereum. He then took out 100,000 in spare money to invest in Ethereum. At that time, his personal wealth was around 3 to 5 million, so he didn't care about this 100,000 investment and went back to his work, soon forgetting about it. A few months later, in the first half of 2017, he suddenly remembered this matter. He bought it on one of the three major trading platforms in China, 'Bitcoin China'; the other two platforms, Huobi and OK, hadn't launched Ethereum yet. At that time, Binance's founder, Zhao Changpeng, was still the technical director at OK.

When he logged into the exchange, 100,000 became over 1.5 million. He thought there was an error in the platform's data, and after a moment of realization, he discovered he had experienced a bull market.

Later, in the second half of 2017, a bigger bull market came, and this friend learned to allocate investments with profits exceeding 1 million, reaching nearly 10 million at its peak. Turning 100,000 into 10 million in just one year.

Of course, the real world is never smooth sailing. Later, he encountered losses in the major bear market of 2018. However, there are always a few people who can beat the market, likely because they understand the investment cycle's rules.
