PANews October 24 news, Ethereum developers Tomasz K. Stańczak and Vitalik Buterin expressed their views on the adjustment of the Gas mechanism for the Ethereum mainnet. Stańczak expressed support for doubling the Gas target of the Ethereum mainnet but emphasized that re-pricing should be minimized, with adjustments only needed for certain opcodes and precompiles (about 5). In contrast, Vitalik proposed a more detailed adjustment plan, suggesting a significant reduction in Gas fees, including lowering the cost of EVM opcodes in the current range of 2-5 to 1, reducing the range of 6-10 to 2, and cutting the Gas costs for logging and precompiles by 4 times and targeted reductions, respectively. He believes this could increase Ethereum's TPS by 1.5 times without affecting key performance indicators. However, Vitalik also pointed out that increasing the maximum storage access might interfere with the development of Ethereum's statelessness, which is his main concern.
