Odaily Planet Daily News: The Buenos Aires city government has announced the integration of the decentralized identity solution QuarkID, supported by ZKsync, into its miBA platform. This will make Buenos Aires the first city in the world to implement blockchain and zero-knowledge encryption to create autonomous digital identities, giving its 3.6 million residents greater control over their personal data. Starting from October 1, 2024, all active users of miBA (the city's digital platform for accessing government services and documents) will receive their own decentralized digital identity (DID). These DIDs are protected by QuarkID's wallet and are settled on the Layer 2 blockchain Era, supported by ZKsync. By integrating QuarkID, miBA users will be able to access over 60 types of digital documents and certificates, including birth, marriage, and death certificates, student certifications, personal income tax certificates, and more. Additional documents, such as driver's licenses, will also be added in the coming months. Furthermore, this innovation will allow users to add credentials from other organizations adopting the QuarkID protocol.
