🚨 Crypto News 🚨

The Tapioca Foundation has offered a $1 million bounty to a hacker who stole $4.7 million from its DeFi protocol in a “social engineering attack.”

💰 Tapioca sent an onchain message on October 20, asking the hacker to return $3.7 million and receive $1 million USDT, much higher than the usual 10% reward.

🔍 On October 18, Tapioca announced that it had been hacked, losing 591 ETH and $2.8 million USDC. The hacker took control of the TAP and USDO vesting contracts, withdrew 30 million TAP, exchanged it for $1.5 million ETH, and transferred it to BNB Chain.

👾 Co-founder Matt Marino revealed on Discord that the hacker tricked “Rektora” into downloading malware during the interview, thereby gaining access to the contract.

🔥 Marino also said he "hacked the hacker back" and recovered 1,000 ETH, worth over $2.7 million.

📉 TAP tokens are now worth just 2 cents, down sharply from $1.40 before the attack.
