PANews reported on October 17 that Nishad Singh, former engineering director of FTX, asked the judge not to send him to jail for the collapse of the crypto exchange, according to Bloomberg. Singh's lawyers said in a memorandum submitted to a federal judge in Manhattan late Wednesday that he should be given leniency in view of his limited role in the collapse of FTX, his immediate cooperation with investigators, and "his commitment to leading an exemplary life."
“His case is extraordinary in every material respect to which sentencing is concerned: his personal history and characteristics, his role in the crimes with which he is charged, the promptness with which he cooperated, his response to the collapse of FTX, and how he has rebuilt his life since then,” the lawyers wrote in their sentencing recommendation.
