According to Bloomberg, Italian Deputy Finance Minister Maurizio Leo said in a conference call in Rome detailing the country's budget plan that Italy plans to increase capital gains tax on Bitcoin investments from the current 26% to 42%.

Foresight News previously reported that the Italian government plans to raise 3.5 billion euros (about 3.8 billion US dollars) in budget funds by imposing additional taxes on banks and insurance companies. These measures still need to be submitted to parliament for approval.
