CoinVoice has recently learned that venture capital firm Khosla Ventures has raised a $405 million special purpose entity (SPV) to invest in OpenAI's $6.6 billion financing round, according to people familiar with the matter and a regulatory filing.
The SPV will consist of funds from Khosla Ventures and outside investors, the people said. Venture capitalists typically back startups, but they also pool money through SPVs to participate in later-stage financing rounds.
