According to ChainCatcher, Lookonchain published a post saying that the U.S. government seems to be free to sell the 69,370 bitcoins confiscated from Silk Road. Previously, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Battle Born Investments' case on the ownership of these bitcoins on October 7, giving the government full control over the seized funds.
Interestingly, the last time the U.S. government moved bitcoins was 2 months ago, when it moved 29,800 BTC, of which 10,000 were transferred to Coinbase Prime.
Currently, the U.S. government still holds 203,239 bitcoins, of which 69,370 bitcoins related to Silk Road have been dormant in the wallet "bc1qa5" for 4 years.
