The debate over the identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto is back on the agenda with a new HBO documentary. 10x Research has released a report examining the possible role of cryptographer Nick Szabo and the US National Security Agency (NSA).

Szabo is a prominent figure known for "smart contracts" and Bitcoin's precursor "Bit Gold" in the 1990s. 10x Research notes that Szabo's writing style and philosophy are similar to Nakamoto's 2008 Bitcoin white paper.

The NSA's 1996 research paper and 2001 patent application contain the core technologies of Bitcoin. However, there is no definitive proof.

Who do you think Satoshi could be? Let's discuss in the comments.
