According to TechFlow, on October 7, Cointelegraph reported that Worldcoin is adjusting its global strategic layout. Fabian Bodensteiner, managing director of Worldcoin Europe and member of the founding team, revealed at the Sifted Summit held in London on October 7, 2024 that the company is shifting its business focus from Europe to Asia and other emerging markets.

Bodensteiner pointed out that countries such as Japan and Malaysia in the Asia-Pacific region and Argentina in Latin America have greater potential in technology adoption. Worldcoin is working with several well-known game publishers in the Asia-Pacific region to integrate its technology into these platforms. In Malaysia, Worldcoin is not only targeting consumers, but also working with local companies, including Mimos, a national applied research and development center, and MyEG Services, an e-government service application.

Despite the shift in focus, Worldcoin is continuing its European operations. Worldcoin successfully launched operations in Poland in September 2024 and began World ID verification in Austria in July. However, Worldcoin faces multiple challenges in Europe, including an investigation by the Bavarian Data Protection Supervisory Office (BayLDA) in Germany, and the suspension of its operations in Spain and Portugal in 2024. Bodensteiner stressed that the company remains committed to maintaining a dialogue with European regulators, "We want to succeed here, not run away from the problem."
