Important Events

 

A hearing on FTX's restructuring plan will be held on October 7, and FTX will submit the final vote to the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware before the hearing. FTX's bankruptcy plan has been supported by more than 94% of creditors, promising to repay more than 98% of customers and unsecured creditors based on the value of cryptocurrency held as of November 11, 2022. Some creditors can receive up to 118% of their claims, with a total claim value estimated at $6.83 billion, which will be paid in cash. Three other hearings are scheduled for October 22, November 20, and December 12. These hearings will discuss the merger of multiple claimants into a unified category to ensure a smoother payment process.

A documentary (MoneyElectric: The Mystery of Bitcoin) will be aired on HBO on October 8, which attempts to decipher the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.

Christie's London will auction the digital dynamic artwork (Ascend) on October 10. (Ascend) is part of the "The Wild Within" project created by artists Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell. It is engraved on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol similar to NFT. It can switch between day and night modes, reflecting the actual time changes of this real architectural location in Georgia through a 30-minute transition process.

Musk will unveil a humanoid robot product on October 10.

Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan’s money laundering trial in Nigeria has been postponed to October 11.

Gurbir S. Grewal, director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) enforcement division, will leave his position on October 11.

EU regulators have issued guidance on the classification of crypto assets under MiCA, with a public consultation deadline of October 12.

Project Progress

 

Lido's wstETH deposits from Ethereum to Optimism will be suspended from October 7th, and will support the introduction of stETH into Optimism's upgrade, with the upgrade completion date being around October 14th.

Swell Network will conduct its first airdrop on October 8th. The first round of airdrops will be distributed based on the Black Pearls held by users. 2% of the SWELL supply will be allocated to Black Pearl holders for the first time, and 1% will be allocated each time thereafter.

 

Berachain has launched the Request For Broposal (RFB) incentive program, which mainly provides liquidity support for Berachain's ecological projects and test network developers to help projects start cold. Projects that have been deployed on the Berachain test network can apply to participate in the RFB program before October 9, and can choose to participate in the Boyco project at the same time.

The Nakamoto activation at Stacks is expected to take place on October 9.

Ola will take the final token distribution snapshot of the mainnet and Massive before TGE on October 10. The third season of the Massive node verification network will be the last season of the Ola testnet phase. Users participating in the Massive season will be eligible for the distribution of Ola tokens.

 

Coinbase International will launch the ARKM perpetual contract, and the ARKM-PERP market will open at 17:30 on October 10.

The announcement date for the fifth round of Optimism’s retroactive public goods funding and grant delivery is October 10.

 

Upcoming Events

 

London Web3 Week takes place from October 7 to 17, with Zebu Live 2024, one of the UK’s largest Web3 events, taking place in London from October 10 to October 11, focusing on topics ranging from artificial intelligence and blockchain to sustainable development and digital transformation.

HackaTRON Season 7 submissions are open until October 8, with a pre-selection period from October 9 to 23, a review and community voting period from October 24 to 31, and the winners announced on November 13.

 

The 10th Radar Global Online Hackathon hosted by the Solana Foundation will end at 23:00 on October 8. The Radar Hackathon has set a total prize of more than $600,000, $250,000 in early-stage investment, and 1:1 incubation qualifications from the Colosseum accelerator. Participants can receive a single reward of up to $50,000 and special bonuses.

 

Permissionless III hosted by Blockworks will be held in Salt Lake City, USA from October 9th to October 11th. Topics of concern include the US election, consumption, re-staking and Layer2, multi-chain, Al x Crypto, Bitcoin revival, etc.

 

The 2024 Shanghai Blockchain International Week will be held from October 11 to 19. The 10th Blockchain Global Summit hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Lab on October 17 will be held at Shanghai Institute of Innovation and Design (former site of Leshide Institute of Technology, No. 505, East Changzhi Road). From October 11 to 19, dozens of side events such as technology sharing and project demonstrations, art markets and academic seminars are also planned to be held at various venues in Hongkou, Shanghai.

The registration deadline for the second Starknet Hackathon, jointly initiated by the developer community OpenBuild and the Starknet Foundation, is October 12, 2024. This Hackathon has three tracks: General, DeFi, and On-Chain Games. In addition, a "Most Popular Community Award" has been established. The total prize pool for this hackathon has accumulated 20,000 US dollars. The winning team will also have the opportunity to obtain Starknet's official Grant and incubation support.

The challenge period for BNB Chain’s “BNB Chain TVL#4” will last until October 11, and the winners will be announced on October 13.

9.93 million EigenLayer tokens EIGEN will be unlocked at 3:00 on October 9, worth approximately $33.67 million, accounting for 5.32% of the current circulation;

 

12.86 million Ethena tokens will be unlocked at 15:00 on October 9, worth approximately $3.85 million, accounting for 0.47% of the current circulation.

 

Xai token XAI will unlock about 35.88 million pieces at 17:30 on October 9, worth about US$7.2 million, accounting for 6.20% of the current circulation;

 

Optimism token OP will unlock 8 million pieces at 20:00 on October 10, worth about 13.68 million US dollars, accounting for 0.64% of the current circulation;
