According to TechFlow, on October 7, Cointelegraph reported that the US government filed two lawsuits on October 4 to begin seizing digital assets worth more than $2.67 million stolen by the North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group.

According to legal documents, the U.S. government is seeking to recover approximately $1.7 million in USDT from a group that stole $28 million from the options exchange in the 2022 Deribit hack. After the hackers successfully hacked into the Deribit hot wallet, they mixed the funds through the Tornado Cash mixer and multiple Ethereum addresses.

U.S. law enforcement officials have also filed to recover approximately $970,000 in Avalanche-bridged-Bitcoin (BTC.b) that was stolen following the Lazarus Group’s 2023 hack of the Stake.com gambling platform. The malicious attack cost Stake more than $41 million.
