Coinbase announced that it will remove all unauthorized stablecoins in the European Economic Area (EEA), including Tether's USDT, by the end of the year. This move is to comply with the EU's upcoming MiCA regulatory rules. MiCA requires stablecoin issuers to hold electronic money authorization in at least one member state, and the relevant guidelines will take effect on December 31.
