Billionaire Elon Musk announced two new subscription levels for X Premium

🙏Billionaire owner of X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk, has announced two new subscription levels for social media platform X's premium service.

According to an official post, the lowest plan will have all the features but will not have reduced ads. On the other hand, higher subscription plans block all ads on the platform, providing the most comfortable experience for users.

Musk has not confirmed when Premium subscriptions will launch, but according to some sources, "this will be rolled out soon".

Earlier this week, X announced a $1/year subscription for users in New Zealand and the Philippines, allowing users to “post and interact with other posts.” Furthermore, it's unclear whether the $1 subscription will be one of the two new Premium subscription models.

Elon Musk's X Platform already has an $8 X Premium subscription service.

X Premium users get a blue check mark on their account, which means the account has been verified. Furthermore, X Premium users can also edit their posts, a feature not available to free users.

In early September, there were rumors that “Musk will charge a fee for users who regularly access the platform.” However, in a recent statement, he clarified that “platform X will remain free for regular users.”

Why does Elon Musk want to launch new subscriptions for X?

The new subscription plans could be a way for the social media platform to solve the bot problem. Obviously, Musk wants to completely solve the problem of widespread bot accounts on X.

Musk has also talked about this many times. He said introducing a paid service could help reduce the problem of bots running rampant on the platform.

However, it is also possible that the subscription model is intended to increase revenue. Musk paid about $44 billion to buy back X in 2022. And many people say the company's value has dropped significantly in the year since it was acquired by Musk.
