What is brc20?
The BRC-20 token standard on Bitcoin was created by community enthusiasts on March 8, 2023. It is an experimental interchangeable token standard that utilizes#Ordinalsprotocol JSON data to mint and transfer tokens.
The concept is to develop a set of json data packets in a specific format, engrave them on the BTC chain through Ordinals, and read and manage accounts through an off-chain indexing platform. The deployer can decide parameters such as the total amount of tokens and the name, and follow the first-come-first-served principle. A single name is only allowed to be registered once, and $ORDI is the first BRC20 token deployed by Domo.
