October Token Unlocks: $3.42 Billion Coming to the Market
In the coming weeks the cryptocurrency market is gearing up for one of the biggest token unlock events of 2024, with over $3 billion worth of tokens set to be released in October.
The most significant of these is CelestiaTIA
which, at current prices, plans to unlock over $1 billion worth of tokens.
SUI , a layer 1 blockchain platform, plans to unlock approximately $115.55 million worth of tokens on October 1st. This represents approximately 2.40% of its circulating supply.
ZETA will unlock approximately $38.59 million worth of tokens on October 1st. This represents 13.43% of its circulating supply, making it one of the larger unlocks in the future.
IMX , a scaling solution for NFTs on Ethereum, will unlock approximately $58.78 million worth of tokens on October 4th. This represents approximately 2.02% of its circulating supply.
APT , another layer 1 blockchain project, plans to unlock approximately $92.17 million worth of tokens on October 11th. This represents approximately 2.25% of its circulating supply.
TAIKO, an Ethereum-based “rollup”, will unlock 12 million tokens worth approximately $23.4 million on October 14, representing 15.70% of its circulating supply.
AXS, a popular blockchain-based game, will unlock $50.43 million worth of tokens at current prices on October 14. This represents 6.14% of its circulating supply.
STRK, an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, will unlock $30.6 million worth of tokens at current prices on October 15. This represents approximately 3.60% of its circulating supply.
ARB, another Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, will unlock approximately $60.14 million worth of tokens on October 16. This unlock represents approximately 2.56% of its circulating supply.
APE, a token associated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem, is scheduled to unlock approximately $13.04 million worth of tokens on October 17. This represents approximately 2.31% of its circulating supply.
Celestia plans to unlock 175.56 million of its TIA tokens, worth about $1.05 billion at current prices, at 1:59 PM UTC on October 30. These tokens represent 81.94% of its circulating supply. The unlock will also kick off a plan to issue 998,580 tokens per day for a year, worth nearly $6 million per day at current prices.
