- State Senator Niraj Antani has introduced a bill that would require state and local governments to accept cryptocurrency as payment for taxes.

- This is not the first time Ohio has considered cryptocurrency as a legal means of paying taxes. In 2018, the state accepted Bitcoin, but later suspended the service.

- The new bill would also allow pension funds and public universities to invest in cryptocurrency.
