Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin proposes increasing the “blob count” to improve network scalability and benefit layer 2 protocols. Currently, the blob space is at 75% of its capacity. With EIP-7623, Vitalik suggests increasing the blobs per block from 3 to 4, with a maximum of 8, to store more data and improve L2 capacity.
