According to TechFlow, on September 19, Bitcoin.comNews reported that the FBI raided a network that used fake cryptocurrencies for illegal gambling. Jonathan Arvay, a 38-year-old resident of Denver, Colorado, was found guilty by a federal jury of operating an illegal gambling business. Arvay used a fake token called "Obsidian Digital Asset Coin" (ODAC) to cover up the exchange of gambling points and cash, and customers were required to pay a handling fee to exchange ODAC for US dollars. The operation revealed a large-scale gambling operation involving fraud and money laundering, with related gambling venues spread across multiple cities in Colorado, from Greeley to Pueblo. Matt Kirsch, acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Colorado, called these venues gambling dens in "legal guise."
