Ethereum is rushing with the Pectra update
Ethereum Core developers are looking for an opportunity to speed up the Pectra hard fork and are considering launching it as early as February 2025. But to do this, they will have to split the update into two parts.
For Ethereum, Pectra should be the largest update, and splitting it will help reduce technical risks.
